Adult Psychiatry and Forensic
Adults who have depression, bipolar disorder, mood swings, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, thought disorders and other complex psychiatric conditions.

Treatment approaches:
Medication management and interpersonal therapy.

Special consultation to survivors of violent crimes and other traumatic events.

Civil Forensic Psychiatry:
Consultation to legal professionals, including Independent Medical Examinations, Qualified Medical Evaluations for Worker's Compensation, pre-employment evaluations, and psychiatric disability/injury assessments.

Criminal Forensic Psychiatry:
Consultation on various psychiatric issues including mental competency, insanity evaluations, violence risk assessments, and sentencing recommendations.

    • Initial Visit: 60 minutes
    • Follow up medication management and brief psychotherapy: 30 minutes
    • Psychotherapy: 45 minutes

  • Do I have to pay for my visit at the time of my appointment?
    Yes, unless your insurance requires us to bill them directly. Payment of co-pay is requested at the time of the visit.
  • What insurance plans do you accept?
    Dr. Ruiz is paneled with Blue Cross PPO and Blue Shield PPO. If you have another form of insurance, Dr. Ruiz can provide you with a superbill so that you can bill your insurance for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance first to obtain any necessary prior authorization approvals.
  • How much is my co-pay?

  • How can I get a prescription refilled?
    Please ask Dr. Ruiz during your appointment time.
